Proposed Gate facility including gated/security area, holding cell and waiting area
The Brief
The project proposes a controlled entrance facility for a residential estate, designed to improve security, regulate access, and provide a more organised arrival experience for residents, visitors, and estate personnel. The facility incorporates a dedicated security post, holding cell, and waiting area within a compact and clearly defined entrance zone.
The Concept
The concept is centred on controlled arrival—creating a facility that is secure and functional without becoming visually oppressive. The entrance is organised into distinct zones for security operations, visitor screening, temporary holding, and waiting, allowing movement through the gate to be monitored and managed efficiently.
The architectural language is deliberately robust and contemporary, giving the estate entrance a clear identity while maintaining visibility and operational control. The gate facility is conceived as both a security point and the first architectural expression of the estate.
The Outcome
The proposal establishes a more structured and secure point of entry, bringing security operations, visitor management, and waiting functions into a single coordinated facility. The result is an entrance that strengthens estate security while improving the experience of arrival and establishing a stronger architectural presence at the boundary of the development.
