The Brief

IDEOGRID is a structured learning system designed to help schools move beyond traditional record-keeping and make better instructional decisions through connected data, assessment, interpretation and intervention.

The Concept

IDEOGRID was developed around a simple premise: there are no “dumb students”; schools need better systems for understanding how students learn and responding to what the data reveals. The platform connects diagnostic, formative and summative assessment with student performance, attendance, teacher activity, intervention and school-level insights.

Behind the platform is the Learning Systems Lab, a research initiative studying how teachers and school leaders interpret educational information and turn it into meaningful instructional decisions. Research from the Lab informs the system, while classroom data provides feedback for continued research and improvement.

The Outcome

IDEOGRID brings assessment, performance analysis, intervention, learning journeys, reporting and emerging AI-assisted insights into one connected environment. It is being developed as a foundation for a broader IDEOGRID Learning Systems Programme, combining technology, school diagnostics, teacher professional learning, benchmarking, leadership support and continuous performance improvement.
